The pump spill typically found in the bottom of the fuel bowl is a one way ball valve and is used to regulate the volume of the pump shot delivered into the engine. A larger size such as a 100 will bleed more of the volume back than say a 50. A blank spill is also available which will deliver the entire pump shot.
